2016 VERSA NOTE STD KEY - NO TRANSPONDER, UNABLE TO PROGRAM EVO-ONE

0 votes

This 2016 Nissan Versa Note doesn't seem to have a transponder. Transpoder connector isn't located at the key cylinder as shown in install diagram. Wired everything up as shown for install diagram, but didn't connect the RX or TX connections as the transponder wires aren't there. I can't get it to program. Getting stuck on the 5th step of programming. The 5th step starts with the yellow LED solid and you turn key to ON/RUN and the red LED should light alongside the yellow. I'm not getting that red LED lit.

I went into the settings and turned off the transponder for the Evo-One but still having the same issues. Super basic install. Any help would be much appreciated.

I believe we spoke this morning and advised you to program just the can bus on the blue led. Once this is done as long as the igntiion switch is powered properly the vehicle should remote start.

When testing it make sure the vehicle is disarmed.

If it does not start thatll be 1 of 2 things.

- ignition switch not powered properly.

- vehicle does have a transponder

Derek - Thanks for the help this morning. Indeed, programming with the blue LED was my initial issue. After doing this and getting the RF kit fobs programmed I'm getting a crank but no start. This vehicle doesn't have power locks and the lock/unlock wires at the BCM aren't pinned (empty).

I checked the ignition harness and the install diagram (#67661) is correct, 12V-Pink, Starter-White, Ign-Gray, and ACC-Yellow. During the remote start process, I'm getting 12 volts at ignition and 12 volts at the starter.

Currently, in settings I have the bypass turned off and set remote start to tachless only. Not sure where else I could be going wrong. Wish I could pull up the settings that were saved to go through it all without having the EVO-ONE connected.

Unfortunately I had to button the vehicle back up for the customer and will have to schedule another time to go back through the install. Not something I wanted to do but the customer needed the car.

Unfortunately I removed the Fortin unit and installed an Avital unit that had a tach wire. Connected the tach, learned tach and the vehicle starts without issue.

The Fortin unit wasn't pulling in the tach and tachless wasn't working. Tachless with the Avital unit didn't work either.

Tachless is normally not supported on manual transmission vehicle no matter the module or manufacturer. So thats normal.

Sorry you didn't get the evo to work but glad you got it going in the end.
