Evo All with THAR-CHR5 harness and door problem

0 votes
I am using the EVO-All as a stand alone on a 2006 Jeep commander. In order to simplify the transducer connections I am using a THAR-CHR5 harness. I wired it according to guide EVO=CHRT5 schematic F. I have programed the evo all as a stand alone and set the option to unlock then lock after remote start. The car does remote start with 3 key presses of the oem remote. I have detected 2 problems with the doors. First off it will remote start with the doors open and with the doors closed it will unlock the doors but not lock them after a start. It  also does not shut down with a brake application. Should I have not used the T-harness and wired it according to Guide 8141 connection 2 and not used the T-harness?

Was this tested with the doors opened or closed? A lot of vehicles will not relock when a door is open so people do not accidentally leave the keys in the car.

For the brake, it can take about 2 seconds for the evo to respond and get confirmation from the car that the brake was pressed. Press on it, and just wait to see if shuts down.

Yes Robert You were correct about holding the brake on for a bit. It does kill it. the first or second time I remote started it I tried it with the door open and thats when I found out the door can be open when it is remote started. It still is locking the door when You get out even with the key in the ignition. I think maybe the cars factory options might have changed as I had the battery disconnected. I will try to check them and see if it stops it from locking itself when You get out of the car. Thank You

Make sure you have connected the yellow wire from the t-harness to the yellow wire from the 20 pin connector.

Also verify that the connections from the 6 pin red connector are made like the guide shows.

When the car is running under remote start, is the yellow LED on the module ON ?

Thanks Mathieu. I checked the six pin plug and the 3 wires I made connections with are all in the proper place. White/red goes to ignition harness starter wire. White/bue goes to B+ on ignition harness and the yellow/red is cut from the T harness plug and it now goes to ignition on the ignition harness. Yellow /blue is connected up strem in the T harness.

The yellow wire on the t harness is connected pin A1 in the 20 pin plug.

Yes the yellow light is on after a remote start.

So it appears the only problem I have to find is why it can be remote started with the door open.
This vehicle will remote start with the door open or the door closed.
Thank You Robert.
