2012 RAM 2500 gas wont flash blue to program

+2 votes
I recieved the EVO-ALL CHRT4  remote start unit that was supposed to be already programmed by the vendor. After splicing the yellow wires together and installing the unit. I cannot get the unit to flash blue when the key is in. My firmware version on the unit is 74-19 but my invoice from the seller says 74-22 which is the most recent im guessing. Do i need to reprogram or change something in the setup on this unit?

Are you installting this as a stand alone?

what does the blue led do when you turn the ignition on? does it go out and stay out? does it stay on?

I checked your service number here http://fortin.ca/en/support/001A06570890/

It isnt showing any options turned on at the momemt for stand alone (if thats how you're installing it). Unless he turned them on in the offline menu.

Yes. I am installing it as a stand alone. They blue light goes out when i turn the key. Then goes back to solid blue.
Did you modify the T-Harness as it shows in the guide? If so this is a problem because thats only for vehicles 2010 and less.

Meter the Gray and the Gray/Black wires in the 5 pin white connector on the evo all next. They should show 2.xx volts DC per wire with ignition on. This is the can bus. If it shows 5V on one wire and 0V on the other this could be your problem.
I did not modify the harness in any way. I will meter the wires and get back to you. Are there any other wires that i should check while im at it?
Check the yellow wire at the 20 pin connector to be sure you are getting ignition when the vehicle is turned to the on position.
I wont be able to test this until tonight. If i am getting the correct voltage from each pin you listed above, does the unit need reprogrammed?....and if im not getting the correct voltage does that mean its a bad harness?
If you arent getting ignition at the 20 pin connector it means your connection is bad between the 2 yellow wires or their is a problem in the t-harness. If your cans are not balanced then you have an issue with the can network. You can try to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes then reconnect it and see if they balance out.

Also be sure that you have properly seated the connectors at  all connections of the t-harness

Just a side question after you release on blue, you are inserting all the remaining connectors right?
Yes. I am connecting the 20 pin, white and red connectors after i get the solid blue. There is a two pin connector on the unit but none on the harness. I assume the 2 pin doesnt apply? Thanks for your help. i will get back to you. Also, is there any chance the unit is just not programmed correct?
ya the 2 pin does not apply to your situation. The firmware looks good from what i can see. As previously mentioned though i dont see any stand alone options turned on, unless it was done in the offline menu.

Not a problem glad to help...
Should there be stand alone options turned on?
Actually i looked a little closer and he flashed this as a Dodge Ram 2012. Not a Ram 2500 2012...check your connections first and go from their...yes options c1 (oem remote monitoring) and d1 (stand alone) should be on...youll find out once its programmed if he actually set them up...
I figured it out. I had a bent barbed pin on the main T harness. I remove the pin and spliced it to where it should connect. It programmed and everything is working correctly. Thanks for your help on this.
awsome! glad you figured this out:)
