ignition out from crimestopper sp 502

0 votes
I am installing a crimestopper sp 502 with a chr t5 on a 2009 dodge nitro, do I need to install a diode on the yellow wire coming from the t-harness so that the alarm/remote start does not back feed the unit? or do I just hook up the 2 yellows to the pink directly? this is my last connection everything else is finished, I have read horror stories about people burning up ignitions dont want that. I am using d2d and thepink wire is labeled ignition 1. thanks

Essentially the installs that require a diode were used so that the remote starter does not power the vehicle ignition. The burnt ignition switch is 60% the recall from Chrysler and 40% caused by the weak factory immobilizer connector breaking a connection on the factory transponder ring, as found here : http://wirecolor.com/en/qa/16063/

This diagram does not require a diode but there is no harm in putting one if you want. EVO yellow wire should then be connected directly to the Tharness yellow wire, and the Crimestopper would be connected to the diode that then connects to the Tharness yellow wire. Just make sure the diode is facing the proper direction. Adding a diode is not reqiured..

Thanks so much for your quick response.
can you tell me something really quick.....

in the above statement, it is said that the ignition wire from the crimestopper unit needs to go the yellow wire of the tharness ( evo ) and so that would me per the crimestopper manual telling me to put the pink wire to the vehicle's ignition wire, is not true...

please confirm.
