Thar-GM1 v2 2014 chevy cruze doors will not unlock once car starts.

I have installed everything and got the car starter to work, but now I can not get the doors to unlock once the car is started, unless I unlock with the key. Is there a fix for this? Also is there a way to turn the auto start off without getting into the car? Does it shut off automatically after a period of time? I used the stand alone installation.

Hi Jason,

By factory, when you you start the car with the key, the remote will stop working. When installing the EVO as a stand alone unit, the same thing will happen; the remote will not be functional since the car is started. The description for stand alone for the Chevy Cruze on ifar.ca states that factory will seize to work when the car is running.

The only way around this at the moment is to open the door with key hole or to add either a remote starter or alarm. The EVO would then be able to control door locks while the car is running.

The facotry setting for runtime while remote started is 15 mins. This can be changed to 3 or 7 mins.

What do you mean by adding a remote starter or alarm? Would that require having to carry an extra key fob?

thank you for your quick response.
If you want keyless entry while the car is started, you would need to carry another fob with you.
