2014 Hyndai Genesis Sedan PTS (Dec2012build) Programming/ Car wont take over?

+1 vote
Hi Fortin,

Car remote starts but vehicle does not take over after hitting PTS button twice. I noticed when i was programming the evo all and the step where it says turn on/run then blue led will blink 10x to show key bypassed but the next step where blue and red will blink 10x to confirm brake and tach is programmed does not happen. The last step i get is the blue blinking and thats it. Never goes to blue and red? Door locks, trunk, and RS do work fine.

Thank you,

So what happened with all the ignition and accessory connection you had asked about before? what is connected where?

I tested the accessary wire and it came up as ignition so i have the Red and White wire wired as ignition 1 and igntion 2 an no accessory wire is hooked up from RS.
Try powering the 2nd ignition as accessory instead. I'm told this may cause no take over. Also, keep note that for take-over to work, the EVO needs to see an unlock signal
I will try that,

1. But what do you think that has to do with the me not getting the blue and red confirmation that tach and brake signal programmed confirmation from evo all?

2. Lock and unlock is working but will try again in those steps to enter vehicle

3. If i do this and still have problem can i just hardwire just the brake wire to the evo all?

4. Also can you give me the steps to reset evo all for programming and do i have to update with flashlink again when i reset?

Thank you,

Technically it means that the Can-Hi and Lo at the OBD-II connector are not detected or reversed.

2. Lock and unlock is working but will try again in those steps to enter vehicle

The entire procedure starts with the doors closed, remote start the car, press unlock, enter vehicle, push 2x on pts button, hit brake and leave with car.

3. If i do this and still have problem can i just hardwire just the brake wire to the evo all?

Quick way to know if brake and tach are actually programmed is to test the outputs of the EVO for brake and tach. Ignition needs to be ON to test the brake signal and the car needs to be started to test the Tach..

4. Also can you give me the steps to reset evo all for programming and do i have to update with flashlink again when i reset?

Resetting does not erase the current firmware you have, it only clears the memory for which vehicle you have it programmed to.  Here is the procedure.

  1. Hold down programming button while plugging in datalink connector.
  2. Let go of button when LED is RED.
  3. Push and hold button again until all three LEDs start to alternate.
  4. Disconnect unit, she is now reset.
