2014 Mazda 3 stand alone evo all and thar-maz1 successful programming, no start

Hi,

I have a 2014 mazda 3 automatic push to start, and I want to have the oem remote start using the evo all stand-alone with t-harness. I've followed this guide: https://cdn.fortin.ca/download/62681/evo-all_ig_tsa_bi_maz1-3_pts_2014-2017_door_v2_e_62681.pdf and I've successfully programmed the module per the guide, the last step was the rapid blue light flashing and that did happen (the only thing I didn't do was set up the parking lights since it was optional). Only the remote start function doesn't work. I've played with the settings a bit and always have c1 and d1 on, I just tried turning D3 on and it still didn't work. I also have D2 on, and when I do the 3x lock, the yellow hazards flash on my car 3 times, and then the door unlocks like D2 states, and then after a few seconds they flash again 3 times, and the door unlocks... and then nothing happens after that. Am I missing settings or anything else simple? Or anything else?

I had another evo-all with tharness that I master-reset after finishing the programming, and then eventually called tech support and they said that evo all would no longer work with my car because I did that. 

 

One other note: only one of my keys seems to work with the unit; its the only one that will make the blue led flash when I press the lock button that is. From other questions it seems the other key is a clone and won't work with the evo all or something, which I'm fine with, as long as I can get the original one to actually start my car.

If the vehicle equipped with a OEM hood pin switch? Have you done the underhood jumper?

I originally thought that it wasn't  equipped with one after looking for it, but maybe it's not as obvious as I thought. Is there a way to tell if there is an oem hood pin switch other than actually finding it?

 

Also in the case I do not have one, I haven't added my own hood pin switch because I'm a bit confused on that part of the wiring diagram. From what I see in that diagram, I should insert a wire into the empty pin on harness A and then splice that with the ground wire going into slot 7 on harness B? And then where do I take that connection to exactly? More specifically, the arrow in the box labeled "vehicle without oem hoodpin" indicates that the connection should go where? To the bottom terminal on the hoodpin?

Yes it can be tested as follows:

- remove the jumper if installed

- lower drivers window

- close all doors ood trunk.

- lock the doors with the factory remote

- wait 1 minute

- reach in through drivers window and pop the hood

If the alarm goes off you have a factory hood pin switch if it doesnt go off then their is none and you need to verify the hood jumper connection. 

OR, connect the parking lights or led testlight to brown white wire and count the number of flashes after the 2nd failed start attempt, this install has built in diagnostics via the parking lights.

 

This will tell you exactly why it is not starting.

So there is no OEM hood pin switch. Can you tell me exactly how the hood pin connection is supposed to be if I am not installing a hood pin? Right now, I only have the hood pin wire (A8 from 20 pin connector into evo-all) connected to a switch and the other side of the switch is connected to ground. What else do I have to do?
