When plugging the data-link connector to the EVO-ALL all three LED's flash 25 times

When connecting the Data Link cable from the remote start to the EVO-ALL all three LEDs flash 25 times.

While debugging a door lock problem on a 2013 Subaru Crosstrek I did a master reset on the EVO-ALL, set the C1 option as directed and when connecting the EVO-ALL data link cable all three LEDs began flashing.

This is the second unit that this has happened with the same exact scenario. The first unit also had a bad data link connector causing intermittent power but after receiving the new unit and installing with the same lock problem I reset it and experienced the same exact problem.

Re-Flashing the unit with any version of firmware has no effect. Same problem. Both units communicated with the Flash programmer without any problems only when connected to the remote start do I see the problem.

I would have thought it was the cable but... The new unit worked perfectly with the same cable until I reset the unit.

Help please.

Two things. When I say three LEDs are flashing I mean all 3 are flashing at the same time not sequentially. On the first unit I tried reprogramming the key but this was not successful but I don't remember the exact problem.

After reset and connecting with the Flashlink2 I can see that the key bypass is still there and active. Are you saying that I need to run the decrypter programming sequence again?

At the moment the Evo-All will not talk to the compustar at all except to pass signals through.

Thank you

when you are plugging the data cable into the EVO-ALL are you holding the programming button?

Exactly. It was reset. You will need to reprogram it. When programming, first step is hold the programming button, then plug in datalink.

OK. My mistake. the original unit had a bad connector causing a problem with re-programming. The new unit reprogrammed and now starts the vehicle.

I still have the door lock/unlock problem when remote started only. The Compustar remote will only lock/unlock when not remote started.
Last time I saw this on a Subaru was revolving around the door lock data connections. More specifically, the two wires that interupt that door lock data wire. Make sure that you are using both white/red and white/green for this.

Question, does the oem remote allow you to lock or unlock while the vehicle is remote started? (test while remote started)
Yes, the subaru remote works at all times.

Currently the Lt Blue & White/Red (A20 & D6) are connected to the connector side of the cut door lock data wire and the White/Green (D4) is connected to the other side of the cut wire.
Any update on this.. Door locks still do not function with Compustar remote when remote started. Only with Subaru remote do they work.

Is this tied to the Subaru feature that you cannot lock the doors if the key is in the ignition?

Please advise.

I'll have to open a report for this at the moment. Locking and unlocking should definitly work all the time.

  • Does the blue led flash on the EVO when using the compu remote or the oem remote while the car is started?
  • While the car is started, if you pulse a ground on either the purple or purple/white anlog inputs of the evo-all, do the door locks function then?

First and foremost, master reset evo, update to 79.32, reprogram and try the door locks.
