Cut Off T-Harness BCM White 15-Pin Connectors to Splice +/- 12V on OEM BCM Connector

0 votes

Ref. Guide 75861

For 2016 Nissan Titan Diesel Push-Button Start

Step 1

A. I believe it says to cut the wires attaching the white 15 Pin connectors to the T-Harness.

B. There should be a red wire and a black wire coming from the T-Harness that need to be spliced into the back of the trucks OEM BCM white 15-Pin connector.

C. Locate the +12V wire on the trucks OEM BCM white 15-Pin connector, which is a bigger white wire on pin 5, and splice in the red wire from the T-Harness.

D. Locate the -12V wire on the trucks OEM BCM white 15-Pin connector, which is a bigger black wire on pin 1, and splice in the black wire from the T-Harness.

What is the best way to do this? Fortin says not to use T-Taps but they sound like the simplest way to do it. What about quick splice connectors?  Does anyone have a picture that shows how this is done?

Cut the white 15 pin connector off of the t-harness as shown in the guide.

Then manually splice in to the vehicles wires as shown with just the red and black wires from the t-harness.

DO NOT USE T T-TAPS, quick splices or any quick connecto of any kind! These are a very poor way of making a connection, while they seem simple, they do not last and cause problems.  Do the job right the first time and manually splice them in.
