2018 Nissan sentra pts no HVAC

0 votes
Installed a Solace remote starter and evo-nist1, standard install, into a 2018 Nissan Sentra PTS, auto. First problem i overcame was that the NIS1 T harness was made incorrectly, getting power from obd connector instead of brake switch, would only have power with key on.  Redirected 12v source from brake switch. Programmed great, starts and seemed ok. Let vehicle sit for about 5 mins or longer, try to remote start, starts ok but HVAC unit is off, have to physically turn the unit back on by pushing buttons on the hvac panel (has auto hvac system). I tried reprogramming evo- all, reloading the previous firmware level, reprogramming again, replacing evo, still no change. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Serial# 001A07 055068

Power is at the OBD. If there was no power, fuse is blown.

Vehicle is started like a human would... Brake is pressed then PTS is pressed.

The vehicle though may be recognizing the evo as a 2nd user (think memory seats). Once remote started, set whatever settings you want in the car without the other fob in there.

Hey Robb, the obd has power when ign ignition is on but not when off. Should is have constant 12v? I checked fuse for "power socket" which I believe is the fuse that also does the obd. It was good. I also tried remote starting, turning heater on, shutting off vehicle as per the post I found on here that may have been you as well. If i remote start start in next couple mins the heater comes on as normal. But after about 5 mins the heater control display won't light up but the defrost button in top left of controls illuminates, it will turn on if i physically go in and turn heater on. After playing with it last night, it would seem that even starting with the factory push button after about 5 mins, it acts the same way.
Ok good, if acts the same way with normal starting, it would be a a key personalisation problem. So, working as intended! :D

I may have been mistaken for the obd. I know it was changed in the harness at some point from obd to brake or vice versa... i forget which.
Ok, the customer swears the car always left the heater where she left it from the night before but isn't the case now. When the heater is turned on it starts over at 25 deg regardless of where it was set when shutting off. If remote starting within a couple mins of shutting off everything works normal but not after about 5 mins. Not sure if it's from unplugging things during the install? I tried turning the heater on with no keys in it after remote starting with no prevail.
If HVAC is set AUTO, the car is deciding the heat and would most likely require to manual change it. I dont believe disconnecting things would cause an issue unless there are some sort of user settings/preferences that would get erased and then need to be re-saved.
Is definitely on manual setting. Vehicle still will not remote start and have hvac on. Is there any way it's a connection issue? I'm still kind of doubting that T harness after I had to change the power source for it to work.
No. The install itself starts the car like a human. Brake is pressed then PTS is pressed.

The only thing that typically happens is that the car recognizes the starter as a new key without any comfort settings adjusted. Typically, you would remote start while in the car, then adjust whatever is needed to put it in the vehicles memory.

Also, the owners manual, section 4, mentions something about hvac not turning on automatically depending on temperature.  https://m.nissan.ca/content/dam/nissan/ca/owners/manuals/Sentra/2018-Nissan-Sentra.pdf?

Make sure the in car temperature sensor is plugged in. If the vehicle has auto HVAC there should be a sensor in the lower dash panel. When it is unplugged the HVAC doesn't operate properly.
