the ground wire has power

0 votes
I installed on my 2006 Toyota Sienna LE a  Key-Override-All bypass and remote start CrimeStopper RS4 G5 and I don't know why the black ground wire shows power 10 volt. When my car is running on the remote start the battery power shows only 12volt  but when I start my car without remote start the battery shows 14volt.  The remote start is draining my battery. I returned the remote start and ordered the same model but I still got the same problem  and I don't know what is wrong with it. Where is the problem.  Is it possible that both of them have some defect.

Black wire on the KEY-OVERRIDE-ALL  is ground and their shouldn't ever be any power on there.

From that 4-pin black "datalink" connector.

--> BLACK should be going straight to ground

--> RED should be going straight to 12V

--> BLUE no connection.

--> WHITE no connection.

If your battery is only showing 12V while it is running on remote start, this typically means there's something not being powered, or being powered incorrectly at the main ignition switch.  Basically, on remote start, your vehicle is currently running on pure battery thus draining it. You need to be seeing 14+V while the vehicle is running on remote start.  Go over the main ignition connections (ignition1, ignition2, accessory, starter1 and starter2).

You should contact CrimeStopper support team so have assistance on the remote starter. Something definitly sounds wrong in the installation.
