2023 Mazda CX30 - Evo One with T-Harness - Push Button Start Malfunction

+1 vote
Good Day.  Need assistance with the "Push Button Start Malfunction. Have the Vehicle Inspected.".  I get this immediately after I enter the vehicle and push the start/stop button of the vehicle.  I tried multiple times and get the same results.  As soon as I press the brakes, engine stop.  It that the Evo One is not recognizing when I press the start/stop button.  The vehicle remote start (3x lock) sequence works and the lock/unlock on the OE remote works as normal.

I've installed the Evo-One multiple times (in all my vehicles, past and present).  This is the first time I am getting this.

Could it be a firmware issue?  I recall, last year, when I installed the Evo One in my 2019 Mazda CX5, I was getting a message on the display and I had to use a different firmware to correct that.

Evo One Unit (date: 05/2019) is currently on: bypass firmware 90.06 | remote starter firmware 1.26

Looking forward to your assistance.

Hello,

On this vehicle you do not press the start/stop button during take over.

Take over sequence is shown on page 11 of the guide linked below:

I called and emailed support the timeline of events.  Looking forward in finding a solution.
No response to my email...

I think I figured it out though.  What "special function" does "E4 feature 1" do or have?

I noticed by having E4 off. I no longer get locked out.  Although it seems that E4 disables the advanced keyless entry.  So far for 2 days now, no unusual beeping and keyfob unlocks the door.
That is good to hear that E4 has helped solve the issue.

Leave it off for now since it allows control of the locks via remote.

Unforuntate side effect of you losing advanced keyless entry but i would think being able to actually access the car is better than not being able to.

I will go see why the email was missed, apologies for the delay.

Best regards.
What "features" does the E4 do?

Below is the email I sent support...

Dear Support,

I hope this message finds you well.

First let me start by saying that I love your Evo-One; I have been using this for several years now with all my vehicles.

On 12/09, I installed the Evo-One on my 2023 Mazda CX30, and I have been noticing several issues that I wanted to bring to your attention.

I initially reported an issue with the push-button error in the QA (https://fortin.ca/en/qa/131087/2023-Mazda-CX30---Evo-One-with-T-Harness---Push-Button-Start-Malfunction/), which I learned later was an error on my part. The takeover for this vehicle is different from my other vehicles, both past and present.

After that, I started noticing other concerns. I was advised to call support, which I did a few hours ago.

Below is the timeline of events since day one after the install up to this morning:

For your reference below is the information on my module:

Evo One

date: 05/2019

sn: 002B04 015283

bypass firmware 90.06

remote starter firmware 1.26

--------

I appreciate your attention to these matters and look forward to resolving these issues soon. Thank you for your continued support.
E4 tells the module how to react for door lock request on vehicles with advanced keyless entry. In your case please leave it off since it resolves your remote issue. As mentioned above the side affect will be no advanced keyless when remote started.

Best regards.
