2018 Tiguan will not start

0 votes
2018 VW Tiguan, STD-Key, Not digital cluster, AT

EVO-ALL firmware 64.06

THAR-VW6

Decrypted and programmed successfully, but when trying to remote start via lock lock lock from oem key, car turns on, but doesn't crank.

Tested while in the car and the depress break light (shift lock) was still illuminated. I wired in the Yellow/Red Break Out to Black/Red VESCM (+)Foot Break correctly.

Tested command start while in the car and depressing the break, works.

Please assist.

Exchanged EVO-ALL unit for a new one with the retailer.
Everything worked with the new unit.

Hello,

Try turning off A13 and turning on D6 and re test.

Please observe the brakes lights when testing and let me know if they are turning on at remote start.

Best regards.

With D6 turned on, the car doesn't even turn on. Car unlocks and relocks as per OEM security, instrument cluster never illuminates.

Break lights don't illuminate.

Turned off D6 and tested again, original symptoms came back, car turns on, no crank, no break lights. Shift lock light on dash illuminated.
When you remote start the vehicle, if you test the yellow/red wire from the evo do you get any voltage coming out of it?
0 voltage on yellow/red line when testing
Ok that explains some of the issue, next step would be to master reset the unit: https://cdn.fortin.ca/en/download/61931/61931.pdf re flash 64.06, re enable vehicle specific options, then re program the unit to the vehicle again and re test.

Best regards.
My flash limit has been reached.

Can I please have my EVO-ALL reset.

I have submitted your module for reste. It will be ready for use within 24 hours.
waited 24 hours and my device is still not reset.
It should be good to go now. Please try again.
No good.

I load up FlashLink Manager, plug in my EVO-ALL, still showing "The current device cannot be flashed anymore"
Please try again now.
Got my EVO-ALL reflashed and reprogrammed.

I'm following guide # 92571 using install instructions for THAR-VW6

Disconnected Yellow/Red from Black/Red and tested while isolated, 0V.

Tested Yellow ignition line, 12V.

Either the T-Harness is faulty, or the EVO-ALL isn't sending voltage to that line.

Please advise.
Yellow/red will only output at remote start so be sure to be testing it when remote starting. Also yellow/blue should have constant 12v on it.
Yes. I'm checking while in the car and attempting remote start.

I'll check yellow/blue.
Can confirm yellow/blue has constant 12v
Alrighty, next step would be to call into tech support when you have the vehicle, module and flasher on hand so that a tech can go over it with you.

Best regards.
I tested the yellow/red directly from the EVO-ALL and not along the line (pin3 of the red connector).

Attempted command start with multimeter connected, 0 Volts constant.

I believe my EVO-ALL device is faulty.

How would I go about getting a replacement?

Would I go through you guys or the retailer whom I originally purchased?
If you wanted to try a 2nd unit you would need to contact your point of purchase.

I would still suggest calling in so that an agent can go through resetting and re programming the unit with you just in case:

I was just on the line with tech support and the call got disconnected.

Last troubleshooting step taken was:

-Flash 64.10 firmware and reprogram and decrypt with Push-to-Start option turned on.

-Attempted this. Programmed and decrypted successfully.

-Test command start (Lock-Lock-Lock); EVO-ALL ticks on, vehicle does not turn on.

-Tested again with Push-to-Start turned off; vehicle turns on, does not start as break is not being depressed.

Pin D3 not producing momentary 12V on start.

I will be submitting an exchange request with the retail for a new EVO-ALL device.
