3x Lock not always working to start 2014 VW Touareg Evo-one w/Thar-AUD1

+1 vote
New install on Touareg - working through a few small issues, but biggest is that the 3X lock does not allways start the vehicle - cluster doesn't light up at, parking lights and audible chirp work and confirm 3 presses getting to vehicle.

Sometimes the second try works. Seems inconsistent. Is there a required speed (too fast or too slow perhaps) that might be causing the EVO-All to "miss" the command?

Is there an error code guide to the LED's on the EVO-one that might help diagnose the issue?

Thanks in advance, Jon

More than likely you are going to fast or too slow.

1 mississippi pause between each lock press usualy hits the nail on the head. You could also switch it to L-UL-L see if that is easier for you.

Thanks, Derek, that's what I was hoping since I won't need to use up another one of my 8 flashes to fix it!!!

I have to say I'm really impressed with the product and the ease of install in my vehicle, and how easy the programming and firmware updates are with the flash updater. And of course the support forum and documentation!!!

I did have some issues with the install:

I had to try some different program options from those in the install guide to get the remote start to work but found an answer from another question by a Touareg installer that helped. (Don't have it unlock and lock beofore/after start) also turn off lock after start, for some reason it was folding back the mirrors even though that feature has never been programmed in the vehicle!

Also the install guide mentions plugging in the main harness during programming not the data connector but I figured that out.

Last but not least the latest rev recommended by the flashupdater was different than that recommended in the install guide.

Thanks again! (PS/EDIT - I'm so impressed with the product I'm going to go ahead and add an RF kit!!!)
