Unable to program MyCar telematics module to EVO-ALL

0 votes
When trying to learn MyCar telematics module to the EVO-ALL, at the point after switching the ignition ON when the RED & BLUE LED's are supposed to flash, they never do. I have waited upwards of 10 minutes, but they never flash.

My MyCar app reads the GPS position of the car but Start/Stop and Lock/Unlock does not work. The telematics module LED's show that the module is connected to both GPS and Cellular.

The OEM remote start works as it should with Lock/Lock/Lock.

2021 Toyota Corolla, Push Start, Automatic with T-Harness. EVO Serial N.: 001A07 220406

Any suggestions?

I had the same problem when moving the telematics device to a new vehicle. I tried over and over and could never make it work.

I ended up going back and using the HRN-LLRS-01. I say I went back because the fortin module I bought for my 4runner has a blue plug that the telematics device can be plugged into. If I plugged it straight in, the device got power and synced fine to the GPS and cellular networks but never controlled the vehicle throught the app on my phone. Using the HRN-LLRS-01 cable i got it all to work as expected.

So, if you are using the telematics device but not using the HRN-LLRS-01 that may be part of the problem. Go back and plug it into the HRN-LLRS-01 and try programming again.

By the way, don't bother to contact MyCar support. I found them pretty useless and just kept telling me to try again and again without asking questions about the module or the connection method.

Hope this can be helpful to someone out there.

When you turn ignition on, try sending lock from the app and see if blue and red blink.

Also ensure the app has been set up in the fortin protocol.
