EVO-ONE/SmartStart statuses...

0 votes
Is there any option in the EVO-ONE menu items that will enable the SmartStart to provide the statuses in the SmartStart app (doors: locked/unlocked, ignition, trunk, etc.)? Plans to get this to work? Currently, I get the error message in the SmartStart app that it's unable to interpret the info from the server. NOt sure if it's something with the EVO-ONE or something associated with Viper/Directed.

If the car were to get broken into, the smartstart app would let you know.

The Status section though in the app does not work which tells you temp, doors open etc, will not work atm.

Is there anything new on this?
The protocol used for those statuses requires a communication protocol used only by DEI themselves. There is nothing we can do for that at the moment.
When I installed the Evo-One, I did not wire in the harness for the doors, trunk, etc. because my understanding was it was not required. Does that make a difference or does the Evo-One pull that information from other wires?
It's all read through the Can-Bus.
Any update on being able to see the status of the remote starter, etc through the app? This should be a key feature.
Seems to be a key feature that is only offered through DEI products. At the moment we cannot get the proper protocol for the statuses to function.
This may be a dumb question but would there be a way to connect the Directed DBALL2 to the EVO-One for this, or would I just have to switch to the DBALL2 completely?
If you reset the bypass portion completely and then reconnect power to the evo-one, you will see the three leds flash about 20 times. The evo-one is then set to remote start only. You would then have to most likely redo the entire installation according to the dball2 instructions since the evo-one would then be a remote start only unit. Datalink would also not be available.

I am not sure this would work in the long run anyway. Haven't installed a DBALL in a looong time so i am not familiar with all it's features and such.
Switch gears, I want to keep the remote start functionality of the Evo One, but I have a 4X10 unit for obtaining status of my car through the SmartStart app. The problem is Directed has sticks up their butts and won't help me as I can't get the unit to actually start my car. It provides statuses just fine however.

So, I'd like to have the 4X10 connected as minimally as possible to obtain the statuses, but use the remote start functionality of the Evo One. Will they connect or work together somehow? What would be the best way to do this? My EvoOne worked flawlessly with exception to not having the status of the car through the app. What's weird is the Directed wiring taps off of some of the same but some different spots.
It's an EVO-ALL you would want for that kind of setup (remote start module + bypass module). You can't use the EVO-ONE as simply a bypass module.

You could, in theory, use the EVO-ONE triggered start input. Enable option 38.3 in the EVO-ONE, this will convert the middle pin of the shock sensor port into a start/stop activation trigger. With the option enabled, a ground pulse will start the car, and a ground pulse will stop the car.  EXAMPLE: if the 4x10 has an AUX ouput, enable 38.3 in the evoone, connect the 4x10 AUX output to the middle pin of the shock sensor port. Activating the AUX on the 4x10 would trigger the EVO-ONE to start up.
