evo all stand alone take over

When pressing lock 3x to start the car, it will start and run.  If I unlock it with the remote or button on the door and then place the key far away and get it, I able to drive off and the car does not complain about no key or turn off.  It will turn off if i reach in the window and unlock it and open the door.  But I thought if no key in range during take over it would complain and shutdown.

IF you dont like that feature, activate option 17- Shutdown on Door open... It will shutdown the engine when you open your door, then you restart the vehicule with the Smart-Key... to prevent you from forgeting you Smart-Key at home...

If you unlock your doors with the key in range, the car will not shut itself off. The EVO saw the unlock signal, so it will leave your vehicle running. Unfortunately, the way the car is programmed, it only checks for the remote once the car is started. If the car is shut down, you will not be able top restart it without having the remote with you.

It will turn off if i reach in the window and unlock it and open the door.

Yes, the EVO will shut down the car when it did not see an unlock signal.

Ok what about if I unlock it from far away and keep the key inside the house and go to the car, I think it will still not complain.
When the EVO see's the unlock signal, the car will stay running.
I thought I read somewhere that once you unlock there is a 45 second window and if it does not detect a key it shuts down, is that incorrect?
If you open the door over 45 secs after doing unlock, the car will shut down.
