2007 highlander hybrid key bypass programming

0 votes
I've followed the programming instructions and press and hold the programing button, plugged in the wiring and then let go of the programming button when it gets to RED, but it's stuck on RED and never starts blinking 10 times to start the programming. I've tried this both on my EVO ALL and EVO ONE with the same results. I've double check all my connections and metered between them to make sure the connection is good.

What is the S/N number on the back of the module?

the connections that matter would be Rx, Tx and Keysense.

2 easy things to try if all connections were tested

  1. Programming says to plug in power harness LAST before releasing on the RED LED. Change that to power being first.
  2. Swap your Rx-Tx
Thank you. I'll give both things a try. I usually have very good luck with Fortin products. This is the first time one has given me trouble.
dont forget to check that the immobilizer is actually active. Wrap the key in aluminum foil and then try starting the car. If it starts, no need to bypass.

Also, if a key got programmed to the car recently or in the past, it may still be in key programming mode... cycle the key on--off 10 times
Tried all of the following items below without any success.

1. Plugging in power plug first.

2. Swapped Rx-Tx.

3. Cycle key on--off 10 times.

4. Wrapped key in foil and vehicle did not start....
Only other thing I could see would be that perhaps its a vale key.

You can also try rolling the firmware back inside the unit to see if that changes the results of the in vehicle programming.
How far back can I go on the Firmware? I've already tried to roll it back once.
that vehicle should work on any of the 79.XX series firmware.
Still no luck. Any other suggestions?
Another suggestion would be to program the unit with a different key.
Thanks for all the help, but I ended up going with an idatalink bypass and it programmed without issues. I'm not sure if you can relay this information back to the  Fortin programmers to review why there is an issue with my year make and model.
I will forward this infomration to the correct department.
Thank you.
