Fortin RM422 Kit - Can the beeps on the remote be enabled or disabled?

0 votes
I just added the Fortin RM422 kit to my EVO-ONE on my 2009 Honda Civic.  Everything is working as expected except for 1 of the remotes (it comes with 2 remotes) does not beep/chime at all when used.   However, it does appear to function properly and starts the car.    The other remote works as expected and does chime/beep when the car is started.

My question... is there a sequence of buttons that I need to push on the remote to enable or disable the chime?   Not sure if I hit some button by mistake and disabled the beeping on the remote.   Is the remote defective and I need to get it exchanged?

Thanks,

Jason

There's a sequence to lock all the buttons from working at all, but not just for the confirmation beeps.

This may sound odd, but try giving that remote a tap or two on the backside. Otherwise, yes, contact the reseller to have it exchanged.

Hi,

So i ended up getting a replacement remote from my reseller.  The new remote does beep.  However, I cannot for the life of me get this remote to pair with the unit.   I have followed the pairing sequence by turning ignition ON, OFF ,ON and pressing the brake pedal 4 times.   The blue LED on the antenna does flash to confirm it is in pairing mode.   I then press the "+" and "Lock" key on the remote, but the moment i press the Lock key the remote LED flashes RED and will not pair.

I even went through the Erase process to delete all programmed keys from the unit.  My original working remote repaired fine with no issue, but the second one still does not.

Any suggestion?
