Fortin Evo-ALL + Kia Sorento 2012, regular key - Help!

+1 vote

    Hello.

I bought Fortin EVO- All on eBay. Servi?e # 001A06 283452, hardware vr. 6 , firmware vr. 4.18.

I programmed Fortin through the blue LED ( without connection to DATA).
Programming is carried out , but when the ignition blue LED stops flashing once. Then I connected the blue wire (GWR) to earth ( -) , but the blue LED lights up half a second , then goes off and red LED lights, inside the relay clicks . The module does not work.
Then I plugged the data wire . I tried to program Fortin via yellow LED . Programming does not work at all - when the ignition ( second step ) yellow LED lights up and nothing happens .
In the correct connection of the module I'm sure.
I performed a master reset - this has not produced results .
I stopped . Help me, please .

Hello,

The (-)GWR is not supposed to be connected to the vehicles ground wire. This wire is intended to connect to the remote starter (-)ground-when-running wire. The remote starter gives a negative signal when you activate it through the (-)GwR connection. This is when the EVO knows when to activate.

Robert, you did not understand me!
I applied signal (-) GWR instead of remote starter (for a short time - about five seconds!). I did it after the end of the programming procedure. That is, I simulate a remote starter work.
Why can not I bypass Fortin?
I programmed Fortin through the blue LED ( without connection to DATA).

Programming is carried out , but when the ignition blue LED stops flashing once. Then I connected the blue wire (GWR) to earth ( -) , but the blue LED lights up half a second , then goes off and red LED lights, inside the relay clicks

Here you basically only programmed the Can-Bus, not the the transponder on the vehicle. When grounding the (-)GwR wire, that is exactly how the EVO would react. The clicking that you hear is the relay inside the EVO that controls the Whtie/Red and White/Green wires.

If you wanted to test your remote starter at this point, you would need to put a key in the barrel. If the car did not start, then there is a problem with how the remote starter is installed.

I tried to program Fortin via yellow LED . Programming does not work at all - when the ignition ( second step ) yellow LED lights up and nothing happens

If the yellow stays on when turning ignition On, problem is with the data connection. Verify where and how the light blue/black wire of the EVO is connected.

You write: If you wanted to test your remote starter at this point, you would need to put a key in the barrel. What barrel?

I remind you: I have a car Kia Sorento 2012, regular key with a chip. Therefore he is in the ignition during programming Fortin (transponder available).

I pull out it out of the castle after the end programming. To verify the functionality Fortin I connect a signal (-) GWR to the negative level after a few seconds I connect 12 volts to the wire ignition and the, after that, to the wire starter (according to the diagram).

Starter rotate but the engine does not start. At this time, yellow and red LEDs are lit on bypass.

As I understand it, while also should glow still the blue LED, but unfortunately this is not happening. I do not know why ... What am I doing wrong?

Yesterday I tried to program the Fortin on yellow LED.

I noticed some differences from the instructions:

1) wire DATE was in Terminals blue (as in Santa Fe 2011 +),

2)  in the second step of programming the yellow LED lights up continuously, and the blue and red LEDs flash simultaneously very fast (about two seconds), but this step ends with normally - remain to glow red and yellow LEDs,

3) The third step: I turn on the ignition, all LEDs light up on half a second, and then they faded out and only the red LED flashes once per second.

Nothing more happens ...

I changed connecting the wires of light blue and light blue / black. It had no effect on the ending programming.

Subtotal - Fortin does not work. What do I do next?

This is what the LEDs are supposed to do when programming with the BLUE LED with the 4.18 firmware that you have.

  • RED LED comes On
  • YELLOW LED will turn On when ignition is ON
  • BLUE LED will flash a few times but will never stay on

I remind you: I have a car Kia Sorento 2012, regular key with a chip. Therefore he is in the ignition during programming Fortin (transponder available).

I pull out it out of the castle after the end programming. To verify the functionality Fortin I connect a signal (-) GWR to the negative level after a few seconds I connect 12 volts to the wire ignition and the, after that, to the wire starter (according to the diagram).

You are trying to program using the BLUE LED which will only do Can-Bus and not the transponder data. If you want to test your remote starter at this time, you need to have your key in the vehicles ignition barrel.

The third step: I turn on the ignition, all LEDs light up on half a second, and then they faded out and only the red LED flashes once per second.

Nothing more happens ...

I changed connecting the wires of light blue and light blue / black. It had no effect on the ending programming.

Either the data wire is not correct, the connection is loose or the wires are reversed. I will check with Fortin Russia if they have anything special for Hyundai/Kia and if a special firmware is required in the EVO. One thing though, you should be using the latest version in the EVO for Hyundai/Kia which is 76.11.

After updating to the latest firmware. Do master reset on the EVO before attempting to program.

Reset procedure:

  1. Hold down programming button while plugging in datalink connector.
  2. Let go of button when LED is RED.
  3. Push and hold button again until all three LEDs start to alternate.
  4. Disconnect unit, she is now reset.

You write: If you want to test your remote starter at this time, you need to have your key in the vehicles ignition barrel.

If the key with transponder located in the vehicles ignition barrel, then I can to start the engine using jumpers from + 12 volts to the wire ignition and starter. What for then need Fortin?

You write: You are trying to program using the BLUE LED which will only do Can-Bus and not the transponder data.

Robert, please show me how program the Fortin through the blue LED on the data of my transponder? I did not see the information you need in the instructions GUIDE # 3091 (http://ifar.ca/en/download/7531/preview.html).

In Russian forum ( http://www.immo-key.ru/communication/forum12/topic82/ ) have information that for working Fortin the cars of Hyundai and Kia need to connect 7 wires - plus, minus, ignition and two CAN bus, program the on the blue LED. At the same time he must perform the function of the immobilizer bypass. I do not understand why my Fortin does not work?

I do not lose hope that you can help me ...

Hello,

Unfortunatly the only thing I can do at the moment is recommend you to contact Fortin Russia, http://ifar.su , and see if they can help you or where they can recommend you to get the installation completed.

Hello, Robert.

Unfortunately Fortin - Russia refused to help me, they give reason that I did not buy their official products (http://ifar.su/forum/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=5541).

I ask you keep cool. I'm an engineer, I have a lot of experience in repairing and installing electronic systems in motor vehicles. Maybe I missed something or misunderstood recommendations. Also I have the necessary equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope).

I beg you to answer my questions (from previous comments), or suggest your own solution to the problem.

I'm counting on your help.

I read your post on the Russia site and noticed some differences which may be because of the translation.

Here is the plan for a KEY model : EVO-ALL & Hyundai/Kia - Regular Key - Revision 20140130

It is connection 30 on page 37. Take out your current connections and redo the installation as per this diagram.

The programming for this is not with the blue LED. If you do blue LED programming the EVO will only program the CAN-BUS and not the transponder key.

  • Redo the installation like connection 30 of the guide i linked.
  • Master Reset the EVO
  • Program the EVO using programming type 3 in the installation guide.

Testing this install is very easy... Since the installation requires to open the data wire, the vehicle is not seeing the tranponsder in the key.

  • Ground the GwR (and leave it grounded)
  • Start the vehicle with the KEY. If the car starts, the EVO is working.
I would like to make sure I chose the right wire DATA.

If I leave the wire unconnected in the car, when I am trying to to start the engine using the key - the starter motor runs, but the engine will not start. Still after ignition inclusion impulses are present for a few seconds, then the voltage at this wire was 11.7 V.

This wire is blue with an orange stripe.

   This is the wire DATA?
  • Blue/Orange
  • Blue/Black
  • Blue

Those are the colors most popular for Kia. What you described seems to be ok.

Here is a picture of what it look like on the North American version. I do not have information on non north American vehicles.

The RED LED is flashing once every second because the light blue and light blue/black wires are reversed.

Robert, hello.
I ask you to look at the results of my recent experiments: http://www.immo-key.ru/communication/messages/forum12/topic82/message5251/ # message5251
If you want, I can translate into English.
Alas, my result is still negative ...
Problem solved!
I found malfunction in my Fortin. Broke down item in the chain connecting wire DATA. Failure occurred because of the inconsistency of instruction (http://ifar.ca/download/13301/evo-all_hyundai_kia_-_regular_key.rev-20140130.pdf) and wiring diagram of my car.
After replacing the defective part everything works fine!
?
good job!
