with or without a t-harness?

are t-taps being used? because it sounds like t-taps are being used.

I am using a t harness and if by t taps maybe things I used are called self stripping tap connectors
Ok, well if you have a t-harness, the only physical connections that i can see affecting the dash lights would be the ingition and parking lights, (maybe the driver door pin also).

The only problem with self stripping tap connectors is that they will also end up self stripping right through the original wiring also, and not just the shield around the wire.

You mentionned you had a check engine, do you know the codes?

When disconnecting the EVO, are you disconnecting directly at the ignition switch, or is the t-harness still connected up there but the 4 connectors at the evo-all are disconnected?

Personally, I have never seen this.
All I unplug ed was the black connector that you plug in when programming which is the power I'm assuming I haven't got it tested yet to see what codes are for engine light I'll have to check wires to make sure they are still ok
I thought it might be wires conection to the obd 2 think it might be that?

I thought it might be wires conection to the obd 2 think it might be that?

The factory wires go nowhere though at the OBD. So if it's a connection issue, it should not be related to this. (all those wires at the obd-II are technically cut if you think about it; they go nowhere)

This is why im pointing at those other wires that go from a factory switch to a factory module.

Ok I will check it all and let you know thanks
Ok so engine light was just because I started truck and it stalled to many times all good now. I took taps off and stripped and wrapped the wires try ed starter it worked now one question on the evo unit when starter is engaged and truck is running is the yellow light and the red light supposed to be on or just the yellow
Now I started truck and when I put key in and put it in gear to go it shuts off do you know y that is
You have to press on UNLOCK  before you turn the key to ignition and press on the brake or else the vehicle WILL shut off.
Ya did that and still shuts off when put foot on break even tried hitting unlock and lock a couple times with it being unlocked when I insert key and put foot on break

Are you using the same OEM remote that you used to program the Evo All to the vehicle?

On the first page of guide number 22801 it is stated that the OEM remote used for programming will not work once vehicle is running, Please use 2nd remote.

No I am using my second key

Most likely because the module is not receiving the unlock signal.

Quick note from page 1 of the install guide: "The OEM remote used for programming the EVOALL remote will not work once the engine is running. Please use a different remote control to operate the system."

What this basically means is, program the module with one key, but use the other key for regular use. Just like factory, whichever key is used to start the vehicle, that key that is i nthe barrel, will not work for lock-unlock etc, but the other key still works fine.

Ya I am using the other key and locks going up and down an blue light on the evo flashes every time I hit unlock or lock but both yellow and red lights r on when truck is started is that normal or is it just supposed to be the yellow light

If the vehicle is running under remote start, yes that is normal for the red and yellow leds to be on.

And you are turning the key to the IGNITION position right? before pressing on the brake.

Ya I turn to on then hit break and it shuts off it worked fine before it's just been since the cluster went nuts that it started all this maybe reset and reprogram?
you need to hit unlock before getting in the vehicle, putting the key in the barrel and hitting the brake. If you do not do unlock, the vehicle will shut down because it technically means, someone is trying to steal it.
Ok went and tried this and same thing happening now I noticed the red and yellow light on when I put key in and turn to one both lights stay on when I push break truck shuts off and red light turns off yellow stays on for a while
How do I reset the module I tried doin the red light hold until yellow and red flash but I get all 3 lights in sequence
  1. Hold down programming button while plugging in datalink connector.
  2. Let go of button when LED is RED.
  3. Push and hold button again until all three LEDs start to alternate.
  4. Disconnect unit, she is now reset.
Ok did that earlier today re programed hooked up to computer decrypted the key and got the green key on computer finished setup and same prob is there any other reason y this is not working?

Ok, start from the beginning. This is how remote starters function.

Get out of vehicle

  • Lock doors
  • Remote start vehicle
  • Unlock door
  • Open Door
  • Close Door
  • Put key in barrel
  • Press on brake

So, unless you are using the remote that the module was programmed with or you have option D3 enabled, the EVO-ALL would allow key take over.

Ok following those steps and it works guess I wasn't opening and closing door thanks for your help I will update if cluster goes nuts again.
