No unlock from remote starters remote Step 7 on the installation guide

0 votes
2006 dodge ram 1500 gray key, evo all, t-harness, crimestopper rs7-g5, install guide 28831. I tried connection d and e. the evo programs properly, but i can't get the remote to unlock on step 7, and it won't remote start either.

The blue light shuts off when i turn the key off and hit the proram button on the evo all. No lights when i push the start button on the remote.

You need to use firmware 74.22 or 4.06...If using data link between starter and evo i suggest 74.22 as it has the data link protocol options.

Also might wanna fix up your options.

A1 through A11 on.

Select your proctol

Everything else off.

Also,

Step 7 of the programming is not for the vehicle to unlock but rather 1 of 2 possible ways to turn on the D2 option (unlock before start, lock after) but this would only work if both units were in the same protocol.

Looking at your options here:http://ca.fortin.ca/en/support/001A06532531/

E1 and E2 do not need to be turned ON.

Why is F3 on? (D2D) Crimestopper by default normally is on Fortin protocol, I believe you can switch it to "Idatalink" protocol as a 2nd choice but then you would need to switch on F2(AP/OFA) on the Evo All to match up the protocols.

Either put the crimestopper to Fortin protocol = and turn on F1(Fortin) in the evo OR

Put crimestopper in Idatalink protocol = turn on F2 (AP/OFA) in the evo
