"GMC 2005 Denali" Connecting Autopage RS-860LCD "has data port" with remote start and alarm with EVO-ALL???

0 votes
im very confised, i have read the the EVO can be used as a stand alone alarm/remote start. but i need a bypass for my passlock for a 2005 yukon denali. i have a alarm/ remote start that i am installing into it and cannot get it done because the door locks and door triggers and not accessable. this module says it will intergrate into my truck and provide all of that. my alarm had a data port on it so all i would need to do instead of wiring everything is to plug the data port from my alarm into the evo and it will work? what about the remotes that came with the aftermarket alarm? what about the factory remotes that i probably wont use anymore? will i have to use the factory remotes? sorry im only 28 and im so used to old installation ways. "wires, wires, wires," i do not believe my 2005 denali has databus... how to i connect this EVO to comunicate with my truck then have my aftermarket alarm/starter comunicate to the evo. sorry im so lost. i know the EVO will do everything that my alarm will do but i have a nice remote that will tell me if somone is messing with my truck. "windows, doors, temp monitoring/display" stuff like that so i just need some info on this because this seems like just what im looking for but i just cant find any info on my specific question or situation. sorry about some of the spelling, had to type quick, late for work lol. thank you so much for some help or advice.

The EVO-ALL will do the passlock bypass (along with door locks, door status etc..) on this 2005 Yukon. The Stand Alone remote start and alarm features would not be compatible. Your Autopage will be doing all that good stuff

For the EVO-ALL to work in datalink with the Autopage, you need to enable option F2 - AP/OFA datalink in the EVO-ALL settings. If you do not have the Flash-Link updater to do this, just go good 'ol fashioned wire-2-wire between the EVO and the Autopage. (connect the dotted lines in the evo-all guide and cut off the datalink communication)

what about the remotes that came with the aftermarket alarm? what about the factory remotes that i probably wont use anymore? will i have to use the factory remotes? sorry im only 28 and im so used to old installation ways.

If everything is installed correctly either remotes will be functional. Please note though, that your factory remote would NOT control the aftermarket alarm. Personally, i would just use the Autopage remote and leave the factory one at home.

The EVO remote start/alarm functions are not available for the 2005 Yukon so no matter what, your Autopage alarm/starter will be doing everything :) It will be communicating to the EVO-ALL either through datalink (after enabling option F2 in the EVO) or wire-2-wire (dotted lines in installation guide connected). Just follow the regular evo-all installation guide. http://fortin.ca/download/61111/evo-all_ig_reg_bi_gm_escalade-avalanche-silver-sierra-h2_j1850_2003-2007_a_61111.pdf

Thanks for answering most of what i was concerned about. another thing, i bought the EVO-ALL off amazon.ca so it will not have the firmware for my truck on it correct? i will have to buy the datalink module to flash this and set it up.

one last thing... since my vehicle does not have canbus or anything. i think maybe GMLAN. how will the EVO-ALL connect to my vehicles bus systems? i dont have the wires in the ignition for a chip key since it uses passlock. so the only thing i can think of it connects to my vehicle through the purple wire in the OBD2 port to communiucate with the vehicle?

sorry didnt know how add onto the question. Thanks
what's the service number of the evo? typically you do need to flash it yourself but we can still check that you got the correct firwmare or not.

The EVO-ALL is connected the vehicles J1850 databus at the OBD2. It does the passlock bypass, doorlock control and various statuteses through that 1 wire.

perfect! good to know. i have not recieved it yet. it should be here on the 14th. i will post the service number when i get it in the mail. for this unit i would have to purchase the Flash link updater "2" to change or flash anything on this? and stay away from the flash link "1"?

This is what i bought. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0047XSLLQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1      Thanks, Will post service number when it arrives yes

The Flash-Link should be a Hardware 2

The EVO is ideally a Hardware 6

Post the service number when you get the unit.

The picture in that link is hardware 2 EVO-ALL unit from forever ago :D but im pretty sure that's just an old picture that amazon reseller is using.

ok i got it in the mail just now. its a newer model thankfully. its a hardware vr. 6. firmware vr. 4.18 "service number-001A06-541611" it did not come with any instructions or booklette. it says in the item description

  • No programming required
  • Flash Link driver downloaded to your hardrive
  • Compatible with Windows 98/2000/XP/Vista/7 and 8
  • Includes USB cable for plugin to PC computer
  • Stable internet connection to upgrade firmware
  • Allows user to edit any options of the module (3-pulse start, double unlock, arm/disarm, etc.)

well it kind of says it comes with the datalink but nothing else is with it, meh...

can i go to the fortin website and get some wire information on how to install this thing? Thanks

All the documentation will be on the fortin website.

This is a direct link to the installation guide: https://fortin.ca/download/61111/evo-all_ig_reg_bi_gm_escalade-avalanche-silver-sierra-h2_j1850_2003-2007_a_61111.pdf

To use the Flash-Link Updater, you will need to download the Flash-Link Manager program. Link here: https://fortin.ca/en/support/flashlinkmanager.html

You will need to update your EVO-ALL to 70.21 or the latest recommded firmware that will be indicated in the Flash-Link Manager once you select the make/model/year .

After the update. Disconnect the unit from the Flash-Link, reconnect it, then go into the section called EVO-ALL Options. In there, turn ON, option F2 for your datalink compatibilty with the Autopage unit.

Should be good to go once thats done!
