Trouble with starting on Mitsubishi Lancer Fast Key with EVO ALL

0 votes
I've hooked up everything as per the manual sent. And everything went very well till the very end. EVO ALL seemed to program properly, the car started on the 3 attempts on grounding the green wire out. Last it said to hook green wire up to "motor lock"....i did that, but car will not start on its own under fast key. It randomly starts when i go open the door, or it'll start just by pressing the unlock key, and it has started by pressing the lock button on the driver door 3 times but not off the FOB 3 times. I don't understand whats really going on. It seems like every 15 minutes there is a new way of starting my car.......none of them happen to be the correct way.

Also in the directions given to me it says do not hook up any wire with the dotted line of the bypass from the 20 pin harness. But there is a red blue wire (with dotted line) going to my fast key harness. I hooked that up thinking that this has to be the way it goes because its related to my FAST KEY. And in doing so the car starts up fine but (unproperly) with it hooked up. So i thought maybe this isn't supposed to be hooked up so i snipped the wire reset everything and there are no changes.......car still starts but again starts inproperly with door opening etc. And last but not least the yellow wire off my command start and blue wire off the bypass. It says to hook them up last and together while the vehicle is running and to GROUND. Just to be clear........am i supposed to ground those wires out? Or once connected they form some kind of ground. My car starts whether they're grounded or ungrounded but when they're grounded the red light on my bypass continues to stay on. So im not sure if i have something backwards, or something hooked up improperly but my car has yet to start on the 3x LOCK function. Only starts on the unlock function or like i said by randomly opening the driver door. There wasn't much for wiring to be done, and i triple checked almost every wire and everything is hooked up as it should be and everything went to plan as how the manual i got goes.........it just seems like somewhere on this final step that is causing me all my grief!?

Hi Marc,

A remote starter is also required with this vehicle since the Stand Alone feature is not supported on this car. We do not list Stand Alone as a compatible solution, nor is their an actual Stand Alone installation guide.

Basically, no 3x Lock

YeaH no 3x lock. It was able to start on 1x unlock or 3x unlock or it started by me just randomly opening driver side door. this is for a 2009 Lancer GTS.......i see you have had 2014 Lancer in the link above.....so the factory remote was supposed to work for me and it does work for me but only on the unlock button.....not on the lock button. So something is backwards or wrong. and like i said it'll start just by pressing unlock only once. Even when i ground out my green wire to test the system it will start by grounding out the wire just once.........not 3 times.

What is the 12 digit service number written on the back of the EVO?

I am assuming you are also trying to use Datalink connections. Which datalink protocol are you using?

This is the (-)Ground-when-Running wire. The Command Start activates (turns ON) the EVO when it receives its start command. You do not want to permamantly ground this wire. Jsut connect the EVO Dark BLue and Command Start Yellow wire (or whichever they say is their Ground-when-running wire) together.

Sounds like your remote starter is giving you the grief here since it's the unit offering you to start your vehicle with 3x Lock and not the EVO. i cannot speak for Command Start, but normally when a remote starter manufacturer offers starting the vehicle by triggering a certain wire on their unit, you would have change a programming option in their unit to have it detect 1,2,3,4, 5 button presses (number of pulses on their trigger wire, which is that green wire you are mentionning).

it does work for me but only on the unlock button.

Sounds like you're connected to the vehicles unlock wire and not the vehicles lock wire.
