2019 Crosstrek Negative Horn Wire Lead

0 votes

Attempting to locate the negative wire lead from a harness below the instrument panel.  I don't have a visual reference as to what harness it would be. . .but I'm assuming its in the are of the fuse box.

The best I could find was "HORN SWITCH - CLOCK SPRING WHITE 14 PIN CONN, PIN 9", from a wire sheet for a Crosstrek XV.

Much appreciated if anyone can help.

There is a junction connector behind the fusebox that is an alternate location for the horn wire, it would be a yellow wire. but as mentioned before this circuit must be tested correctly before connecting anything to it.

Thanks for the info JM.  I believe this particular connection (- horn) is to confirm/announce that the remote module received the signal prior to turning the engine over.  Instead of using the yellow wire that you referred to, could a wire be connected directly (from remote module) to one of the negative side horn terminals, and achieve the same result?

I'm waiting on an answer from idatastart, but since you answered before I heard from them, I'd figure I'd get your follow-on advice .  Ultimately, this connection may just be an option.

Thanks for your valued advice.  I can provide an image of the install sheet as reference.
you will want to wait on idatastart to see what their reasoning behind the horn connection is.

If  you do not have the correct tools/skills to test for this circuit, please do not poke aournd the clockspring assembly as this also houses the airbag circuits/triggers,
